EDDIE ‘TERROR OF THE ATLANTIC’ FOSBROOK

Morgans University lecturer agreed to sit for him for a stereo portrait. If you stare at the portrait and then slowly cross your eyes, the two images fuse to create a 3 dimensional third image - Eddie is in 3D! The image chromatically shimmers as the colours clash and work against each other. The portrait was exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery.

Eddie was a boxer and a merchant seaman in the Second World War. He was on the last British warship to be torpedoed by the Japanese. He boxed in front of Churchill on the way to the Yalta conference on HMS Hunter and became a tailor and lecturer after the war.
