THE PICNIC
A family portrait capturing a summer picnic scene. The sitting was held on the hottest day of the year in a private Chelsea garden. Each person was wearing their favourite outfit and had an object very special to them added into the portrait. Jack the dog was encouraged to run through the food at the end of the sitting! The portrait took four months to paint. The final painting was selected for exhibition at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Mall Galleries London, and then shortlisted for the prestigious Conversation Prize.
